Life in a Gallery
The Artisan sprang from the creative possibility of New York’s Lower East Side. The brand new residence features murals by Logan Hicks and artwork by Aaron De La Cruz, as well as exclusive historic photography from Magnum Photographers. From the lobby to the lounge, living at The Artisan will be like living in a gallery.
Since the end of World War II, Magnum Photos has been one of the most prestigious photography collectives on Earth. Magnum members have documented all of the world’s most important events and figures. Most photographers who are admitted consider it to be a crowning achievement in their careers.
The Artisan has received exclusive permission to display a number of Magnum photographs throughout the building, with a focus on images that document life in New York City.
Logan Hicks will be contributing an original and expansive mural in the sixth floor lounge.
Hicks is a New York-based artist known for his photorealistic paintings. He studied at the Maryland Institute for Creative Art and has painted large-scale murals in Istanbul, Miami, Baltimore, New York, Djerba, Paris, and more. His work is featured prominently on the Lower East Side’s famous Bowery Wall. Hicks focuses on stenciled, dreamlike cityscapes.

Aaron De La Cruz’s artwork will be displayed in The Artisan’s elevator banks and lobby.
It’s easy to get lost in the shifting patterns and well-utilized white space of De La Cruz’s murals. After being influenced by family, graffiti, and skateboard culture of Fresno, CA, De La Cruz studied at the California College of the Arts. He never lost his interest in graffiti and typography, and that is evident in his current body of work.
